N Wells Treatment Facility
SCV Water N Wells PFAS Treatment Facility was finished in late 2020 and is the Agency’s first PFAS treatment facility. This project ensures a local, reliable source of groundwater for SCV Water’s customers and reduces reliance on costly imported water.

N Wells Treatment Facility Features and Community Benefits
- Located adjacent to the William S. Hart Baseball/Softball fields.
- Produces 6,250 gallons per minute on average
- Restores enough water to serve up to 5,000 families annually
- Project cost: $6 million
- Facility includes six vessels, pumps, motors and ancillary equipment
- Treats water through synthetic ion absorption, a proven, cost-effective PFAS treatment option
- A chloramine (chlorine ammonia) is a more desirable disinfection process used by SCV Water and other agencies across the nation. The chlorine remains in the distribution system longer, produces fewer disinfection by-products and has fewer taste and odor concerns than free chlorine.
