Ratepayer Assistance Program

SCV Water has developed a pilot Ratepayer Assistance Program to help some low-income residential households stay current on their water bills.

Now Accepting Applications from all qualified customers.

Assistance

Qualifying SCV Water residential customers can receive a $10 monthly credit towards their fixed service charge, for up to a 12-month period during the fiscal year.

Assistance will be given to qualifying customers from the priority group, on a “first-come, first-served” basis, so long as funds are available. If additional funds are available after processing the priority group applications, the RAP will be opened to all eligible customers meeting the qualifying criteria.

Customers must qualify. Applications must be submitted every fiscal year (July 1 - June 30).

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicants must be an SCV Water residential customer.
  2. The applicant’s water meter size is 1” or smaller.
     
  3. Applicants must be enrolled in the Southern California Edison or Southern California Gas California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) programs.**

    The name and/or service address on the Edison or So. Cal Gas bill reflecting enrollment in CARE must match the name and/or service address on the Agency water bill.

Priority Registration

Priority registration will be given to the following groups**:

  1. Seniors (age 62 or older)
  2. Veterans
  3. Permanently Disabled

** Documentation will be required for verification purposes.

A current bill or letter from So. Cal Edison or So. Cal Gas showing CARE program enrollment.

    (front and back)
  • Military dependent’s ID card
    (front and back)
  • Permanent Resident Card
  • Certificate of Citizenship
  • Certificate of Naturalization
  • Employment Authorization Document
  • Foreign passport
  • Veteran Administration Card
  • Veteran ID on Driver’s License or Identification Card
  • DD Form 214 – Verification of Military Service
  • Statements or letters on a physician's/medical professional's letterhead stationary.
  • Statements, records, or letters from a Federal Government agency that issues or provides disability benefits.
  • Statements, records, or letters from a State Vocational Rehabilitation Agency counselor.
  • Certification from a private Vocational Rehabilitation or other Counselor that issues or provides disability benefits.

 


How to Apply

Applicants must complete a new application and provide required documentation every fiscal year (July 1 - June 30).

Assistance is on a "first-come, first-served" basis, so long as funds are available.

  • In-person at our Customer Care office during normal business hours. We are located at 24631 Avenue Rockefeller, Valencia, CA 91355.
