Mega Drought in the Western U.S. and California

The western U.S. and California are facing a severe drought with no relief in sight. Unfortunately, all you have to do is turn on your T.V. or scroll through online news to see the drought's grim toll on our water supplies. At Nevada’s Lake Mead and Utah’s Lake Powell, which supply water to California and other western states, water levels continue to plummet at an alarming, uncharted rate. Closer to home, water provided to Southern California through the State Water project has been slashed from 15% to 5% after a record dry start to 2022.

Water Restrictions for SCV Water Customers

SCV Water and the Santa Clarita Valley are not immune to this historic drought. On April 26, 2022, the SCV Water Board of Directors moved to enact Stage 2 of the Water Shortage Contingency Plan and Water Conservation and Water Shortage Ordinance to ensure we have enough water to weather these dry times.
