Valley Center Well Water Treatment Facility

Completed in fall 2022, SCV Water’s Valley Center Well Treatment Facility restores water affected by PFAS chemicals and is one of many ambitious PFAS groundwater treatment projects the Agency is moving forward. This project ensures a local, reliable source of groundwater for SCV Water’s customers and reduces reliance on costly imported water.

Valley Center Well Treatment Facility Features and Community Benefits

  • Constructed in 2010 but offline since 2019 due to PFAS chemicals
  • Produces 1,200 gallons per minute on average
  • Restores enough water to serve up to 1,000 families annually
  • Project cost: $5.5 million
  • Facility includes two vessels, pumps, motors, and ancillary equipment
  • Treats water through synthetic ion adsorption, a proven, cost-effective PFAS treatment option

Thank you for joining us today for our Ribbon Cutting! Our Valley Center Well is now restoring local groundwater affected by PFAS chemicals. This facility will now serve local water, equivalent to that used by 1,000  SCV families annually.
